3x25 Didn't We Almost Have It All?

Season Finale.

Blech.

It really wasn't very good, compared to the other finales. One of the things that bugs me most is for characters to act out of character with no genuine reason. And that happened a lot in this episode, even though there were no real surprises in the story.

I WAS surprised that George failed the test. No more Macy West. And maybe no more Seattle Grace! Poor guy. And I thought he would make a pretty good doctor. I liked how Bailey comforted George despite her own disappointment in not making Chief of Residence. That scene was probably one of the few scenes I enjoyed. What's happening to George? Is he going to retake the program? Maybe he'll be off to EMT school instead? I'm sure I'll still like this guy no matter what happens, as long as he never makes out with Izzie.

I WAS surprised that Derek got offered Chief. That's ridiculous. Granted he was a good doctor, I have yet to see him have any managerial skills at all. He's no Burke in that department. I hate the fact they're trying to make Derek the 'good' guy again to have him stupidly refuse the offer. It didn't even make any sense, his refusal. Yuck.  Now that the Chief and the wife seem to have a shot, Derek might have ruined things by telling the Chief to, well, be the Chief again.  But Derek is right on track with his wishy washy self. What a chicken. He basically refuse to take charge of the relationship and gave Meredith an ultimatum (and a really lame one at that -I'll only stay with you if you're sure I'm the one coz I can't take the pain of losing you? Bullshit), when Meredith had all sorts of other things on her mind (death, depression, test, wedding) to really have time to digest his stupidity. What a wuss. Not at all engaging character.

And Meredith. She really is having a terrible year. I bet she's kicking herself for not choosing that Chris O'Donnell instead of McWuss. You can be sure that next year would involve more drama with her half sister intern hanging around Derek. Time for a NEW real love interest! Maybe then we'll get less whining.

Yuck. That whole Izzie and George thing still bugs me. This needs to die very soon. It is NOT in their character to be attracted to each other romantically in the first place. Just call it a failed experiment and put us out of our misery. They are NOT a couple. Can't you see that, Shonda?

Alex needs to have a bigger role in the hospital. He's becoming more and more likable. As much as I liked Jane Doe/Rebecca, I didn't really like the conclusion of it though. But his rejection of Jane Doe is similar to his rejection of Addison, and I liked that he remained in character. So, next year, how about getting Alex and Christina together or something? Heh.

Oh, Burke. How I love the character and hate the actor. Upon being fired, Isaiah's response was what? "The network shouldn't have made me jump through hoops (don't discriminate gays, or at least not call them the f-word and laugh about it seminars) if I were to be fired anyway". Yes, Isaiah. So the whole point of you going to said seminars was merely to keep your job and not a sincere apology about your own prejudice against gay people? Nice.  Loser.

But, back to Burke. Totally illogical behavior for him. I knew the wedding wasn't happening, but this is a terrible way to write it out. The expected Christina quibbles, but then to have Burke suddenly pull the rug from under her? For a while, we have seen Burke accepting Christina's form of affection and compromise already, and I thought Burke understood how much Christina loves him through her compromises (I mean, this is a character who always gets her way. She's given up a lot already.) I know they have no choice but to write the end of Burke, but I actually rather have him die instead of running away. He's not Derek, and he wouldn't have run away to be some crazy trumpet player and surgeon. But again, I suppose this opens up Christina's character now that Burke's not in the picture.

Not a good finale. It was depressing, which is fine if you're going for a cliffhanger type of finale, if only I gave a flying fuck about most of the characters. That, is worrying. Season four better be better.

Grey’s Anatomy 3x13 – 3x24 Recap

ON (poor, sad, tragic) MEREDITH

Meredith is not having a good time this year, after the first half of the year being all happy and cute with Derek. First of all there was that episode when her mother was lucid for like a day, and they still managed to have an argument over Meredith being a disappointment, only to fall back to her Alzheimer’s before Meredith could have that mother daughter talk with her. Then of course Ellis dies. Which leaves Meredith all suicidal. And then she tries to kill herself accidentally almost dies. Of course, now Derek gets all wishy-washy with his career and his love, given his love is one emotional suicidal mess, and the Chief basically told Derek he couldn’t be the Chief because he needs to take care of Meredith.

And just when things are on the upswing with her dad and his family, her kind of surrogate mother dies, which Dad Thatcher conveniently blamed her for it. And slaps her for it, right before her really big cannot fail intern exam.

I liked how dark Meredith’s storyline had become, but at the same time, I feel like the writers are kicking her while she’s down already. Do we need her to be any more tragic than she already was after she tries to off herself and her relationship with Derek is on the rocks? I think they could have held off her surrogate mother dying.

ON (don’t be like Derek) GEORGE, (awesome) CALLIE, and (really, really, annoying) IZZIE

George got married, right after his Dad died. Probably a bit premature, but all right, I’ll buy it. Plus, I like Callie, and Callie and George as a couple. I know some people don’t like her much, but I think she’s a necessary strong female character. We need more women (given that Addison is leaving) in the higher ups of this hospital, and Callie is that – you don’t choose to be a female orthopaedic surgeon for nothing, guys. Which makes me really annoyed that Izzie didn’t like her at all for no particular reason. I mean, Izzie didn’t need to be Callie’s best friend either, but to repeatedly tell George he made a mistake? Makes me like Izzie less and less. And I already thought she was annoying (but tolerable) ever since that whole Denny debacle.

Of course, then they dropped that hideous bombshell of George and Izzie. Ew. I’m not even sure how that happened. The couple that has never shown anything (NOTHING. NADA. NO FLIRTING, NO ROMANTIC GESTURES. NOTHING!) but platonic friendship somehow got drunk and slept together. You know, coz they’re like, best friends. And you know, like guys and gals can never be like platonic best friends. It, you know, means they like, luuuurrvve each other. Like, true love, you know?  George and Izzie Forever.Geeeeeeeeez. What am I, twelve?  And the Ew factor is off the charts.  Basically this horrendous move makes me want Izzie to move to L.A. with Addison. Makes me detest not only this coupling but the character Izzie Stevens.

Sidebar: Ok, I realize the super hotness that is Izzie Stevens and the not so much Callie. And as a man George would probably love to sleep with Izzie way more than Callie.  But that is no reason why George would suddenly fall in love with Izzie. I’d even buy George if he still loves Meredith the most and he falls in love with her again, but Izzie was never ever someone he ever thought of in a romantic way. So, no, George and Izzie still makes no sense, despite all the hotness that is Izzie Stevens. In fact, doesn’t anyone think it strange for all the hotness that is Izzie Stevens to fall in love with an arguably not so hot and manly but cute and nice George? Come on, George was no Denny. Even though Denny was in a bed for all the times we see him, he was still  WAY more manly than George. So how exactly would the hotness that is Izzie Stevens fall in love with George? *Shudder*

ON (awesome) ALEX and (awesome) ADDISON

Loved her continuous flirtations with Alex, and her continuous eyeing of the boy toy. They had a lot of chemistry together. Which leads to the next topic…

...Addison jumping Alex. Yay! Of course, that becomes one of the catalyst for Addison to move away when Alex reverts to his protective shell as a dick and rejects her. Her other reasons? I think it includes working with your ex, wanting a baby, and all that darn rain in Seattle.

Which brings us to  Addison’s eventual move to L.A (a.k.a. new show)- which from that two hour show a couple weeks ago resembles  Ally McBeal in a feel good hospital. Yuck. When exactly did Addison become so Ally? It’s really all too goofy, which was especially jarring with what was happening at Seattle Grace. Too bad, since the cast is made up of every actor I like (or not hate):- Judging Amy’s Amy, Prison Break’s Kellerman, Tim Daly, Taye Diggs, Veronica Mars’ Piz, Sydney’s dead evil best friend from Alias, and of course, one of my favorite docs from Seattle Grace, Addison. So let’s hope they lose that cutesy David E. Kelley's Ally McBeal/Boston Legal shit next year.

Back to Seattle Grace. So far I’m liking more and more of Alex. He hasn’t been given as much storyline as the rest of the gang, but his character development had been fun to watch, and his scenes are one of the things I look most forward to each episode. Through the Jane Doe patient and the attraction to his superior Addison, we have seen Alex revealing himself be a sincerely nice guy under all that dick-ishness. So, now we know he is capable of being a good guy, just like George without the lame-ness. I’m going to bet that his previous relationship with Izzie and how he screwed that up has made him more cautious with women he likes, i.e. Addison. When he turns her down as a potential girlfriend, he did it with a kind heart. And though the whole Jane Doe arc is getting a wee bit too long, I really enjoy Alex and Eva (or now, Rebecca) in their scenes together. I totally understood why Eva pretended not to remember her past with a doctor and friend an as awesome as Alex. I hope he gets a hell of a lot more screen time next season. With Addison on the way out, he is currently my favourite doctor from Seattle Grace.

ON (awesome) CHRISTINA and (you’re ok now, since you haven’t open your big bazoo since and things are finally blowing over, but don’t dare say something bad about gays) BURKE

The about to be married couple. From the start of the engagement, her hesitation to answer, her feelings on marriage , his knowing of her feelings on marriage, her feelings on the ceremony – small and civil, his feelings on the ceremony – big and traditional, cakes, their mothers, etc, raise your hands if you think they WON’T go through with it?

See my hand here? I like them as a couple, but I think Christina is too career oriented at this point to really get married. There’s no time for anything else but for her to finish her internship at the top, and she makes no apologies about that. Good for her. Frankly, I think Burke is rushing things. Being a competitive top of his career surgeon, he should completely understand where she is at as well. Throwing her into a wedding gown is the last thing she’d care about. I sincerely think they care for each other and works (at least for now) as a couple, but I’m not sure why they are getting married now.

But anyway, Christina’s reaction to everything about the wedding for the past two months has served as the comic relief of the show. And it’s been nice seeing how Burke or Christina have compromised their own beliefs (albeit with some strain) to make their relationship work. They’re adults, and they’re trying to keep it together (hear that, Derek?) BUT, it’s also a sign that shit will hit the fan soon. And I’m guessing it’ll be about the doomed wedding. We’ll see.

ON (the still awesome but where are you?) BAILEY

Well, she got Izzie to finally put her check in the bank, and out again to open the clinic she so desperately wanted for the hospital. Good job, Bailey. I like that Miranda is taking on more responsibilities at the hospital – my question is why Bailey is not one of the four people considered for the Chief’s job (like, is she less qualified than Addison, Shepard, Burke or McSteamy for that? But I see her doing surgeries all the time. I guess it’s because she doesn’t have a specialty? Hm.)  But anyway, I’m ok with he’s still vying for that Chief of Residents job, and just recently realized it wasn’t a sure win. Hee! My guess is that the Chief will have reservations on giving Bailey more responsibilities – in that episode where he noticed Bailey always being at the hospital. There’s a sense of Bailey becoming more like the Chief work wise, which I gather is not unnoticed by him.

But story wise, not much progression for this character thus far. I still enjoy the few scenes she’s in, and given the lack of those recently, I have a feeling that we’ll get some big moments with Bailey in the season finale this year. At least, that’s what I’m hoping for!

ON (Richard the) CHIEF

-Poor Chief. To finally hand in his resignation only to get ‘there’s a man in my house’? So much for quitting. My guess is that the Chief would remain the Chief for now, much to the disappointment of those who were in the running for his place. I like the actor, and I don’t see how the character can stay in the show without being Chief, and I can’t really imagine any of the candidates to be Chief.

But anyway. Loved how he dealt with Ellis’ lucid day as well as her death, and his choice to be a father figure for Meredith despite her just-because-you-slept-with-my-mother-it-doesn’t-make-you-my-father protest. The Chief has been so entangled with Meredith’s family it seems like he would always be there for her. It’s all very sweet. I liked the scene where he lets her retake the test – he supports her by putting his arm around her shoulder, but lets her breathe and have her space as well by not hugging her. Very poignant.

Oh, that scene at the end of last episode? I was really surprised to hear that Adele’s pregnant – would be interesting to see what happens next after that bathroom scene.

ON (the still boring, annoying and wishy-washy) DEREK

-Oh, right. There’s this doctor in Seattle Grace. He used to be called McDreamy all the time. But somehow, other than his relationship with Meredith, I don’t know of anything I can recall that has happened to him at all. Let’s see. He’s still wishy-washy, this time with Meredith and his chances of being Chief. Only he blames it on her suicidal tendencies. Nice, Derek. From what I saw, he’s my last pick for Chief, with or without Meredith. He’s just around the hospital, being annoying and indecisive. I just wish he’d finally move out of that trailer. What is he, twelve? I bet he’d still be boring. I guess he’s purely there as something nice to look at in the show.

ON (what’s your name again?) MCSTEAMY

-I have no idea what this cosmetic surgeon’s name is anymore. I liked how he impressed the board and the Chief on his quest to be Chief, but at the same time, I don’t see any point in his character at all now that Addison is leaving the show. Who has he bonded with on the show thus far? This is a character that I don’t like or dislike – I suppose he’s also there as eye candy now? Too bad I don’t dig his looks.

FINALLY

Have I missed anyone else? Hm. Oh well, anyhoo – finale next/this week? So we have Meredith all depressed again, Derek feeling more and more disconnected with Meredith, the results of who's going to be Chief, George's maybe move to Macy West, Christina and Burke's nuptials, and more! All I know is that it should be a long one, and I will be happy with it as long as George and Izzie are OVER for real. *Shudder Barf Ew*

Seriously. It’s the biggest misstep of this show.

Grey’s Anatomy 3x12 "Six Days Part 2"

Who cares about this episode? With Isaiah Washington’s foul mouth, it’s all anyone can care about at this point. I find it increasingly difficult to enjoy Burke’s character and his interactions with the rest of the cast now. With him getting help now (why not after the first time he used the slur? Guess it’s still ok to use the f-word while the n-word is off limits), he won’t be fired yet. But when? I actually like Burke as a character, so I’m actually leaning towards replacing the actor instead. I know it’s terribly cheesy to have Burke suddenly looking like another person, let’s say Taye Diggs for example (Hey hey, that’s not a bad idea.), but I prefer this over keeping Isaiah and suffer through awkward scenes with the rest of the cast, or losing Burke’s character in the show. Hm. I guess it won’t be difficult to write him out of the show and/or replace him with another actor:-

1.When his hand fails him again, Burke leaves and becomes a professor at Johns Hopkins (or other institution).

2 When his hand fails him again, Cristina dumps Burke and Burke leaves with a broken heart.

3. When his hand recovers, Burke gets all cocky and calls everyone in the hospital something offensive. They refuse to treat him when he gets run over by McDreamy’s trailer, and dies.

4. When his hand recovers, Burke realized he was gay and runs off into the sunset with McSteamy, who was also secretly gay. (And who also leaves the show. Yay!)

5. When his hand recovers, Burke realized he was gay and calling himself the f-word. That annoyed everyone at the hospital, so he leaves for those Christian Camps where they try to “convert” gay guys into straight ones.

6. When his hand recovers, Burke accidentally sits on it and breaks it again. He commits suicide.

7. Burke gets into a major accident and dies in a non heroic way.

8. Burke gets into a major accident and dies on the operation table in the hands of George. Justice is served.

9. Burke gets into a major accident. His face was disfigured and McSteamy fixes him - to look like Taye Diggs, of course. (Or whoever’s on the list of actors auditioning to be Preston Burke on the hit show Grey’s Anatomy.) Meredith falls madly in love with McHunky/Burke leading to tensions with Derek and Cristina. Hey, that’s a pretty good storyline.

So, there are a billion ways to write him out of the show. I just wish Burke will survive even when Isaiah doesn’t. I say when because it is ridiculous if Isaiah gets to stay after all this. He’s ruining my Grey’s Anatomy for me.

Ok, how unfitting was it for Isaiah’s stint to overshadow last week’s episode? A George-centric episode, George got a lot of time acting his eyes out in an episode circling his dad's death. He had strong scenes with pretty much everyone:-

- “You can buy more French toast” – George’s reaction to the Izzie’s decision with the check. Always loved what good friends Izzie and George are, through good times and bad.

- Loved that Callie ran out her surgery of a lifetime (yes, yes, unrealistic and ridiculous as hell, but how sweet was that?) to be with George in his time of crisis. The line-up of the O’Malley’s and Callie while they waited  was a great camera shot.

- Great scenes with George and his father. I’d feel bad for George if it wasn’t so obvious that the father’s not going to make it. The scene with them deciding to let the dad go and the final scene with the dad’s death was quite touching to despite of the cheese factor. Finally, the brothers get to be emotional and real instead of acting like idiots.

- George finally getting a spine when he told off Miranda and the Chief. I actually agree with George in this case – They knew better.

- George still pissed at Kristina, and Kristina’s welcome to the Dead Dad’s Club was especially touching. It’s nice to see their friendship dealt with in a Kristina way.

- George and Burke’s close up moment. Ew. Nothing on the acting, but the truth spoiled what would have been a real touching and heavy moment. How difficult it must be for T.R.Knight to be working this scene. See, this is why they need to get rid of Isaiah.

- Burke and Cristina’s fight came to an end when Burke finally told Shepard how his hand was, with Cristina in the room. I really like Burke and Cristina as a couple, but this again is ruined by Isaiah.

- Oh , oh, and more Addison and Alex! Addison apparently aborted her and McSteamy’s child, which was why he was all pissed off. They talk again, and McSteamy realizes he would have been a bad father anyway. BORING! Alex goes back to McSteamy again, because how awkward to have almost kissed your boss? But Alex and Addison end up making out anyway, all in the privacy of the bar that everyone goes to all the time. But anyhoo, that’s the progression of the AA story. I think I want something better here.

- And Izzie. Izzie of course paid for the surgery, but doesn’t get to scrub in because she’s emotionally invested. Bailey realizes that she herself can get all Izzie like as well, with George’s dad’s death, and so recognizes that Izzie is both  a doctor and emotionally invested in her patients.

- Meredith connects with dad over snores, and Derek gets some ear plugs. Big snore of a storyline.

All in all, good episode, but as I've said last week, I'm waiting for the ride down on this roller coaster.

Grey’s Anatomy 3x11 “Six Days Part 1”

Finally! Grey’s is a show that takes its time to build up its momentum; I think we’re almost there, to the point when the actors and writers work their kinks out and Grey’s get real good. But first, last week’s episode:-

- Katherine Heigl’s performance was phenomenal in the scene where Izzie finally puts her almost 9 million dollars into a bank. And I loathed the whole Denny storyline. Hope the cheque is the last thing about it. But oooh, whatever will Izzie do with that money now that she has a patient (awesome Anne from Arrested) who can’t pay for her surgery? Hmm. Come on, writers. You can be more inventive, no?

- Who’d thunk pee would be so romantic? This is why Callie and George should be together; George’s old man was right – Callie gets George. Even when George is jumping with glee over pee. 130ccs of glorious clear urine. Loved the look on the family’s faces upon George and Callie’s jumps and kiss.

- SEE! I knew Alex and Addison are so going to hook up. It’s in the stars, man. How sweet of Alex to defend Addison with a cup of vanilla latte, and how funny that all it takes is a cup of joe to get to Addison. Wonder how this ‘relationship’ might work though, with Alex rejoining Addison as her intern – does this mean they’re never going to kiss? Argh! But loving this pairing, and am looking forward to seeing how it develops.

- Not sure what plot device Mcsteamy serves here, and throughout the season though – I’m guessing Eric Dane is regretting he ever came to Seattle Grace. Just kill him already. Take him out of our/his misery. Turn the boring into drama.

- Love how Cristina and Burke are “together”, but they’re not talking to each other. It makes perfect sense for neither of them to back down. “Pathetic”, as Addison says. But Cristina is Cristina, and Burke is Burke. It wouldn’t make sense if one of them did back down so soon. It’s nice to see the shit storm from last year to not be solved so quickly and easily.

- OK, so how come it’s always adorable for a skinny girl to snore and not so much for a larger woman. What does it say about the Meredith/Mcdreamy storyline – snoring was all they got? I’m not sure how to make snoring into an actual story here. Guess that’s why I’m not a writer.

- I find the Meredith vs. Dad thing a bit tiresome. I can see why they need her to deal with the family and all, but I find myself not caring much. Kind of like when they bring in the mother. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

- I’m loving Bailey’s “stare him down” trick. Should try that sometime. Love Callie’s stare at Mcdreamy, and then George. Hee hee.

What has hit the fan?

Grey’s Yang’s Anatomy 3x9 “From a Whisper to a Scream”

And scream I did when I failed numerous times to get a good copy of this episode. At least it was good. Real good. And, I’m not sure why, longer than usual! So, how goes the Seattle Grace gang?

-First, yay! There’s a reason why Cristina gets a voiceover here instead of Meredith; it really is Yang’s Anatomy. For this episode anyway. It’s all about Cristina and…

- Burke. Here I have almost no sympathy for him. For weeks now we’ve seen Cristina going full speed at nothing but his surgeries. She barely paid attention to anyone or anything else all this time. If it were any other person, she would’ve cracked already. But she didn’t. (Well, til the end anyway.) I’m aware of how much of a competitive nut Cristina is, and how manipulative she was in aiding Burke (and to a certain extent, herself) in furthering the deception – but she’s an INTERN. (It’s not too different from the whole Izzie thing when Bailey took up some blame for it.) Whatever she ‘made’ him do or not, Burke is a grown man and an esteemed heart surgeon. He knows what’s right and what’s not. She is his intern. Whatever she had said and done, he ultimately decided to hide his tremors for his own ego; he IS the one at fault.

- But it was heartbreaking to see his face when he turns around to find Cristina in the Chief’s office just when he was about to confess himself. I’m still wondering exactly why Cristina blabbed though; I’m not sure if it was purely for selfless reasons. She seemed taken aback when Burke basically forced her out of his surgery – was it because she was worried about Burke, worried about herself, or worried about the both of them? I’m not sure here.

-Oh, btw, how annoying is it to see yet another analogy in their patients - that old guy who crashed into a market because his wife let him drive even though he couldn’t? Stop making all the patients’ cases relevant to the doctors’ lives!

- But anyhoo, the fallout from Burke’s hand tremors will be interesting to watch, that’s for sure.

- Yay! Addison and Alex! Two of my favorite people on the show. I told you they’d be a really cute couple. Too bad they aren’t. Yet. Hopefully. But anyway, when is Alex going to be Addison’s intern again? That’s all I’m asking. And Mcsteamy is pretty much a useless character these days. Why did they bring him back to the show anyway?

- Angry George this week, but very cute. It’s awfully sneaky of him to bring in Dr. Han to operate on his father instead, but certainly the right move. I like that he did ultimately keep Cristina (and Burke’s) secret even though he made sure it won’t affect his father’s health. I liked that when George and Izzie fight, they make up really quickly – they really are best friends here. How funny was the scene between Izzie and George’s mom?

- Callie’s almost fight with Meredith. Yup, she would’ve taken. Her. Down. Hmm, whatever. But again it’s nice to see someone willing to fight for George. Albeit in a strange way.

- Derek and Meredith. Liked what she said about why she kept Cristina’s secret – he really had no rebuttal on that. And yes, Derek was Burke’s surgeon after all, and so should have checked him out longer. Can’t blame it on your girlfriend here, really. Oh, but that elevator ride? Freezing cold!

Grey's Anatomy 3x8 "Staring At the Sun"

It doesn’t bode well for the episode when I can’t actually remember what happened in it. Which isn’t to say it was a bad one, coz I remember enjoying it. It was probably a semi good episode, but probably a tame one to stick before next week’s Thansgiving special extravaganza episode. Probably.

Let me think. Hmm. I remember Meredith and Mcdreamy in a tub, blah blah blah, they’re happy. Yeah, like I care. I really don’t like them together. It’s kind of creepy for some reason. Some case about a kid who likes the nanny more. Oh, Meredith’s mother. Who I never really cared for. Um, the chief – Webber’s the name – will not visit Ellis again in hopes of getting back together with his wife. Yeah, OK. Whatever.

Poor George, love that he’s getting the A story, but I never liked his family much ever since last year’s Thanksgiving ep. They seem too stereotyped or something. But it should/will be a nice character growth, and it’ll be interesting to see how his dad’s most probable death will impact him. And I liked seeing Callie care about him more than she let on to George, unlike the previous episodes. When are they getting back together?

Alex and Izzie’s third person patient was a really boring case, but I did like the third person banter between the two, and how Alex handled Izzie’s rejection. My Alex is growing up!

Oh Burke. The cat’s slowly crawling out of the damn bag. George already knows, but knowing George he probably won’t blab. But hey - you see Bailey there eavesdropping just a bit there. She seems suspicious now. Oooooh!

Oh, and Addison throws the wedding rings into the ocean. Which reminds me – awesome bickering scene in the chief’s office between Addison and Derek. Can they still have tons of scenes together even though they’re no longer a couple?

Grey's Anatomy 3x7 "Where the Boys Are"

Not at the hospital, that's for sure. They all went camping. Nice outdoor shots. Where did they film this?

Is it funny that Isaiah Burke and TR Knight George were supposed to share a tent? I'm finding it just a bit difficult watching any scene between the two anymore. Which is too bad, since I actually liked the dynamic between the two ever since that open heart surgery in the elevator last year. Now all I notice is whether Isaiah Burke is being a homophobe. Especially in scenes with Burke, George, McDreamy, a gay storyline AND a slapfight.

So while there were some funny scenes, nothing really happened, and kind of a boring episode.

So the boys go camping, and by boys I mean basically all male characters on the show except McSteamy. Hello again bar guy(Joe?) and his lover Walter who we haven't seen since last Thanksgiving. So what happens is this:

Derek realizes he has no male friends, doesn't actually like being alone and runs back to Meredith for a fresh start;

Alex spilled the beans about Callie and McSteamy, ending in a really funny weird open hand slap fight between the two. Apparrantly that's what surgeons do to protect their hands. They also accidentally knock out Walter,Joe's partner for 10 years.

George noticed Burke's shaky hand thing, while taking love advice from Burke.

Finding out Joe and Walter are lovers made Steve(?The head guy at the hospital) realize he misses his wife Adele. I liked his silver suitcase and picnic basket.

Oh, and when George went to confront Callie after the camping trip, it turns out that his Dad's at the hospital. Dun dun dun!

And on the gals' side:

Bailey asked Cristina why she erased her from the board. Cristina takes one for the team, so Bailey takes her out of all surgeries, instead giving her lovely assignments like sifting through shit to recover Monopoly pieces.

Izzie was forced to meet up with previously seen scary cheery substitute to talk about Denny. She does at the end, after hearing some mistake of said cheery substitue.

Calle and Addison bond over a patient, who had to give birth to a dead baby.(which was done in ER already...)

Meredith and Mcsteamy work on a case of a man who's inverting his penis to become a woman. She finds out later she has breast cancer from the hormones she's taking, but still went through with the operation. Meredith flirted with the idea of flirting with McSteamy. Nothing happened. Derek comes back and they kiss. (Big Whoop.)

So yeah, big whoop. Kind of a boring episode. I did like this:

Cristina: "That should be me! I should be turning a penis into a vagina. That should be my penis!"

Ham and Eggs

Grey's Anatomy 3x6 "Let the Angels Commit"

Meh. I'm really starting to dislike the symbolic nature of the patients they treat. There's always a lesson to be learnt from almost every single patient that's been in Seattle Grace this season so far and I'm sick of it. I don't need to see the parallel between this patient and that doctor. Bleah. I did enjoy the 2 uteri/uteruses story though. Another Meh goes to the Mcdreamy storyline. He's getting a bit dull, and the whole sister coming to visit thing was of no real importance other than to delay him and Meredith as a happy couple. Boring! And what's with Meredith's voice? It's so nasal-y and annoying this episode.

Alex is becoming my newest favorite character on the show, after George. I love that he's all into OB/GYN now. Now I'm hoping for some action between Alex and Dr. Montgomery Shepard. Now that would be pretty awesome. Loved that expression on Alex's face when he overheard Callie and McSteamy talk about their little sleepover.

Burke is getting on my nerves, and I have to say it's mostly because of what Isiah did. It's unfortunate, because I probably would have been way more sympathetic to Burke's current situation if that whole 'scandal' never happened. But it did,and now I can't help thinking "homophobe!" everytime I see Burke/Isaiah. Sorry Burke, I know it's not your fault.(It's yours, Isaiah!) I'd be interested though to see what happens to the Cristina/Bailey/board situation though.

"Are you calling me a pig?" Heh. It's a good thing to know; never call your girlfriend, ex or current, a pig. No good can come out of it. How awesome of Callie to tell George "Don't chase me anymore, unless you're ready to catch me." So cool and awesome.

Oh, the Izzie storyline was predictable and dull. But it's nice to see her back at the hospital instead of making more muffins, however improbable that is in real life. I wonder if that check is still up there on the fridge. At least get some interest on that money, even if you're not using it at the moment.
